ONLINE REGISTRY OVERVIEW (Click here to find out about having an in-gallery registry) We are pleased to offer you a way to set up an Online Gift Registry with our gallery. Whether it's for a wedding, civil union, anniversary or birthday, our service allows your family and friends to pool their gifts so that you receive one Gift Certificate (GC) to use in the gallery. We know that you treasure our beautiful state and its vibrant local community. We ourselves are committed to "buying local" and keeping our Vermont ecomomy healthy. This makes more and more sense as issues of energy consumption and gasoline prices intensify. All our exhibitors live and create in Vermont. Most of them deliver the work to us themselves, so we know them personally. This type of registry works well if you have a lot of friends and family in different parts of the country. Unfortunately they don't have the opportunity to shop in Montpelier! You may wonder why we don't offer a more traditional registry in which you list specific items you would like to receive. We have a consignment gallery and don't own the crafts we exhibit, so items on your registry list might sell to regular customers, becoming unavailable to your registry. We have designed this current online web page system to solve the problems we have had in the past with registries. However, we do have a modified In-Gallery Registry if you prefer that. Our gallery has over 120 exhibitors and a broad variety of crafts from jewelry to furniture.HOW IT WORKS You will have your own web page on our Artisans Hand site, in the Registry section, showing the date of your event, if appropriate. When family and friends go to this page they will be able to buy a gift certificate in your name using a secure shopping cart system for the payment. They will receive a receipt as well as a brochure about the gallery. They will be encourage to send you a gift card informing you of their gift. You will tell us if there is a maximum amount of money you'd like: if several people buy GC's you may want to have a cut-off limit. We will inform any other friends trying to buy a GC that the limit has been met. We will keep a record of who has bought GC's for you. After the event we will issue you one GC, after adding up the total amount, and we will present you with a list of family/friends who have participated. You will then be able to start your shopping spree in the gallery! We think this is a great system, since you will be shopping in the gallery after your event, when you know what kind of gifts you still need. No more collections of chafing dishes!
