The pottery I produce is made of stoneware clay and is influenced by the English potters and folk traditions. I am drawn to patterns and designs that accent and create balance on a pot rather than allowing the glaze to be the dominant focus. My work is thrown and trimmed on the wheel. At the leather hard stage I decorate most of my pieces with clay slips using brushwork, carving and slip trailers. The pots are fired in the bisque kiln and then dipped in a transparent glaze and fired a second time in an electric kiln.
